IV Mirus, MD, MPH
Co-Founder

Dr. IV Mirus is an Emergency Medicine physician, Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern, and Vice Chair of Ethics at one of the nation’s busiest hospitals. As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) and former certified ASL interpreter, he brings a lifetime of cultural and linguistic connection to the Deaf community into his medical practice.
Since medical school, Dr. Mirus has dreamed of creating a telemedicine service by and for the Deaf community—one that removes communication barriers and puts culturally responsive care front and center. At ASL TeleMed, he brings that vision to life by combining clinical expertise, ethical leadership, and cultural fluency to ensure Deaf and signing patients receive the care they deserve.
Outside of work, IV enjoys golfing, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and working out. He lives in Texas with his wife and their two loyal dogs, Coda and Lily.

Zachary Featherstone, DO, FAAP
Co-Founder

Dr. Zach Featherstone is a Pediatrician at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital and OB/Pediatrics Committee Chairperson and serves on the Medical Executive Committee. As one of the few trailblazing Deaf physicians in the United States, he brings a unique and powerful perspective to the world of medicine.
The doctor's office was often a scary environment for Dr. Featherstone growing up, due to feeling confused, unheard and misunderstood. With the desire to change this, he went to medical school with the goal of setting up a 'Deaf Clinic.' Thus ASL TeleMed was born. He also works to bridge the gap between healthcare and the Deaf community by empowering patients, training interpreters, and paving the way for future Deaf medical professionals.

He is a proud father of 4 beautiful children and is happily married to his sweetheart. He also is an avid white-water rafter, skier, rock-climber, mountain biker, and a voracious reader of good books.
